VA's August 10, 2026 update says eligible veterans no longer need to register before accessing Foreign Medical Program benefits and can download the FMP benefits letter from VA.gov Letters. FMP covers eligible medically necessary care abroad for service-connected conditions; it does not fund leisure trips or provide general travel insurance. The letter shows covered service-connected conditions. Use VA guidance and Ask VA for individual questions.
